  1. Hi, I’m Dutch (like Frans Bauer) and I checked out your website after you left a comment on YouTube Francis Cabrel, Loooove him. Anyway, have you checked out the poetry levels of the Great Jacques Brel – Ne me quitte pas, he’s originally from Belgium, just like Johnny Hallyday (called the french Elvis) who’s song: Que je t’aime, is a super super one to translate and beautiful to use to learn french.
If you need background on Frans Bauer, (how on earth did you find him???) drop me a mail, kind regards, Dorien

    • Hi Dorien. Thank you very much for checking my site and for your comment.

I am familiar with Johnny Hallyday, but I had not heard of Jacques Brel. I see now that “Ne me quitte pas” has been covered by a lot of famous singers interationally. Thanks for the lead!

Re: Frans Bauer, I found him by searching for a Dutch singer/band that writes and sings in Dutch. My impression is that a lot of modern popular music from the Nederlands is in English, which I think is impressive but just not exactly what I’m looking for with this particular site. Do you have any Dutch-language song recommendations from the Nederlands, either by Frans Bauer or anyone else?

      Dank u wel!

      Tommy
